This week, we honored the police around the country, and most importantly here in Pequea Township. They devote many hours, make many personal sacrifices, and serve our community faithfully.
They work tirelessly to protect our community against crime and at times face much personal risk.
A police officer never knows what he or she may encounter during something as simple as a routine traffic stop.
A police officer isn’t just a person of the law.
A police officer is a family member, friend, and citizen.
A police officer is concerned about people, their well being, and protector of a civil and orderly society.
A police officer is a person of courage and compassion as well as strength and honor.
However, it’s not just our police officers that make sacrifices, it’s also their families and loved ones. Being a police officer is a family affair. They share in the risk, concerns, and even anxieties of their loved ones.
I am honored to serve as a Township Supervisor in a community that is blessed to have a Police Chief and police officers who are committed to Pequea Township and their profession. They are one of many bright lights in our community.
Thank you for your service and dedication.
While you may not hear it as often as you should, thank you for all you do for Pequea Township!
This week, I was honored to sign the 2019 National Police Week Proclamation. Today, and every day, to those who are reading this article, I hope you’ll take the time if you see one of our police officers to thank them for all they do for our township!
